I have mentioned this before, but my third trip to Chicago for a few days is in May and I am planning on visiting UIC to see their architecture grad program. Last years I visited IIT during their set up for their end of the year display. Originally I had no plans of going to school in Chicago, until my visit to IIT...needless to say, they really impressed me with the tour and how the program works for its students and what I could possibly get out of going to a school like IIT.Seeing that I have been nerding out way too soon on this trip, I am curious if there is anyone here who has an opinion of UIC's architecture program, or even grad program (seeing that is what I am going after.) I have done some recent reading on the program and it is described as a theory/history based school, which I am huge into theory when their is a way for it to be applied to reality. From their website, it sounds like the school focuses alot on the Chicago School, which has always been a mindset of architecture that has really fascinated me. Also, based off of local opinion, what are y'all's opinion of the two schools? Especially from those that are in the architecture field in Chicago? I am curious if one is thought to be better or worse, or just general stereotypes of the two schools would be nice.Anyway, that should hopefully start off the topic and it can be expanded on from there in which ever direction it takes.
